New Blog

As much as I enjoy the xanga blogging thing I have decided to start a new blog. If you are interested in keeping up to date it is www.mauermusings.blogspot.com.
I will likely post on xanga rarely now:( So sorry to leave, but I will keep my xanga page to read others' blogs that I like to keep up with.

Blessings!
Jen M.

The Holiday Pics Are Here!

    For those who are interested...

My parents' table on Christmas Eve morning

The same table full of family! Both Katy & Bethany are engaged this Christmas...I am a bridesmaid for both!

A lovely shot of Noah & I 1st thing Christmas morning...Anna at least waited until about 8:30 to wake us. Not bad considering her excitement that we were all in PA for Christmas this year:) (for some reason Noah looks like he has serious tooth decay...haha)

Christmas dinner at my Uncle Doug & Aunt Nan's

Cute pic of Mom & I

I think he's such a stud;)

Now for our Open House which was on Sunday, Dec. 30th...

Noah's older sister Amy made these 3 amazing cheesecakes. 2 were berry (as you can see) & the third was a turtle cheesecake. I HAD to get pictures of the masterpieces before they were destroyed by our hungry visitors:)

GREAT picture of my niece, Grace

Grandma Schultz & Noah's Aunt Nan (not my Aunt Nan from Christmas in PA)

We also had a big party on New Years Eve. We had mostly family & the young adults from our church.

Jeff, my Dad, my sister Ann & Jay (our cousin) playing our new Wii that my mom found used online.

My cousin Sarah w/ Jon & April's baby, Jocelyn

Some of our closest friends (from left):
Jen, Ashley, Sarah (cousin), Charity, Nick, Chelsea (cousin), Ben (cousin)

It was a wonderful holiday season! We got some good rest, saw lots of family and ate too much...just as I'd hoped. Hope yours was just as beautiful!

Updates...

::: I finished my Medical Terminology course yesterday! It feels really nice (already) to be able to come home without that hanging over my head. I can focus completely on making yummy food, cleaning/decorating my cozy little home & serving my hard-working husband. I know it sounds lame, but these are things I miss doing!

::: Noah has 1 more week of school & then we leave for PA on Saturday. We are visiting this special person and her family on our way down to good 'ole Lancaster.

::: My sister is getting married on Jan. 26th! It's coming up quickly and I am very excited for her:)

::: Our tree is up, at least half of the presents are wrapped & I only have 5 more to buy. All of which can be bought online so no more insanity @ the malls! The only thing I dislike about Christmas:(

::: Christmas always makes me want children, but I am holding out for God's perfect timing...however, I do kinda wish we would accidentally get pregnant and have to trust God THAT way...instead of trusting that He is going to help us wait until I get a better job or Noah finishes school........ya know.......either way:)

::: We found out that we can't paint our guest bedroom as soon as we had hoped...SOME of the walls are newly drywalled behind the paneling...but SOME of the walls have plaster walls behind the paneling:( So...much more work than we had hoped and much more money that we simply DON'T have. Oh well, these projects always turn into more than we think in the beginning. At least we have a good idea for when we can afford the room re-do!

That's all for now folks;)

A Couple of Beautiful Days

Friday ~ Friday evening Noah & I stayed in Rochester for the better part of the evening (rather than both making the 40 min. trek home as usual). Our purpose was mainly to buy paint for painting the very 1st room in our house! Things like this get me VERY excited. We discovered that behind all the dark brown paneling in our house, there is actually brand new drywall! For those of you who have worked with plaster walls before you will understand the blessing of the existence of good drywall:)
I plan to paint what is now our "Guest Bedroom" yellow, verticle stripes w/ a black accent. Sounds a little scary I know, but as I said to my husband's doubting expression, "Trust me!" :) Don't worry! I'll be posting before, during and after progress shots! Here is a link to a picture of what I am thinking: http://www.bhg.com/app/coloraroom/preview.jsp?id=45a4dc56

Saturday ~ A non-drilled tree is currently gracing our living room's, large bay window thanks to Saturday's activities! We picked up the tree on Saturday morning and then I went to get my hair cut and colored once again:) Noah cleaned (an amazing man) while I was gone without me asking him to which allowed for me to make a larger, yummier dinner that we ate while we watched cartoons:) Then we DECORATED! I LOVE this part of Christmas! Here are pictures of the end results...

Noah...obviously doing ALL the work on his own:)

After ornaments...and w/the star cut off...don't know what I was thinking:)
